Airport taxi transfer tips and useful travel advice

Adrian Perry • Jan 26, 2023

Following Covid we are now able to go on holiday again. This means we are especially busy with our airport taxi transfers to and from Leicester.  Here are some simple travel tips to make sure you are at the airport ready for your flight.

Book well in advance now that travel restrictions have been lifted.

Allow plenty of time to get to your chosen airport of departure, Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham airports are extremely busy especially at peak times hopefully by summer 2023 they will have recovered and the queues for check in and security have eased.

The roads are also extremely busy again so please add plenty of time for your journey, or book a overnight stay at your chosen airport to be sure to be on time and therefore relaxed before your flight for your holiday or business trip

Make a list

Lists are great ways to stay on track. Write down any items you can't do without, such as medications, and also any places of interest or things to try at your chosen destination. Many trips can be pre booked at a cheaper rate than at the hotel or place itself. This is because often the tickets are bought in bulk by the hotel or tour company's at a reduced price but then may work out more expensive than booking it yourself in advance. Make sure you include items such as face masks and hand sanitiser in case these can't be found readily at your destination.

Check the list regularly

Don’t forget to check in and see how you’re doing. Make sure that you update your list whenever you remember or hear about something else beneficial to your excursion. Keep an eye on your travel itinerary. Flights and accommodation check ins can change at a moments notice.

Pre book your airport transfers

It is always advisable to book your airport taxi transfer in advance, to and from your hotel or destination. For busy locations such as London Heathrow airport and Birmingham airport you may have to wait before an available airport taxi becomes free due to the high volume of passengers exiting the terminals. After a long flight this is probably the last thing you want to do. Pre booking may save you some money if you also use the same airport taxi transfer company.

Pack wisely

Remember to pack refreshments for your journey to and from the airport or seaport. Our drivers all offer complimentary mineral water in our vehicles but many others don't. If it is a long journey then you may want to include a book, a kindle or ipod. Keep any items you may require to hand as the driver wont be able to stop on a motorway to get anything out of your suitcase once you are on your way.

We recently received a call from a customer who requested an airport taxi transfer from London Heathrow terminal 5 back to Leicester. Thankfully following the news that restrictions are being slowly lifted we look forward to reintroducing airport taxi transfers from Leicestershire to London Heathrow. As you can imagine, we were excited to be getting back into the swing of things following the terrible year we have all experienced due to Covid.
